Uddhav Thackeray On ECI Decision: Expressing displeasure over the Election Commission’s decision on Shiv Sena, Uddhav Thackeray targeted veteran BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. On this decision, Uddhav Thackeray said, “Mogambo is happy”. Uddhav used this dialogue from the film ‘Mr India’ to taunt Amit Shah.
Without naming Amit Shah, Thackeray said, “Someone had come to Pune yesterday, he asked how things were going in Maharashtra?” After this he said, “Today is a very good day because the name and symbol of Shiv Sena was given to the slaves who came with us.” He (Amit Shah) said very well, “Mogambo is happy.”
‘This is what Mogambo wanted’
Hitting out at Shah, Thackeray said, “This is Mogambo. If you remember the film Mr. India, this is what Mogambo wanted. There should be infighting in the country. If people keep fighting among themselves, I will rule. That’s what today K’s Mogambos are.” He said, “Those who are with us are ours. Whether he is a Hindu or someone else, it does not matter.” He further said, “If you join our party, you are a Hindu.”
BJP accused of breaking the alliance
Attacking the BJP, Thackeray alleged that the BJP had not followed the alliance and he was forced to leave it. He said, “He did not hold the Congress’s hand, but the BJP forced him to do so.” Lashing out at the Election Commission, Thackeray said, “I had not thought that the Election Commission would take such a decision.” My bow and arrows have been stolen but Lord Rama is with us.
PM Modi also targeted
Uddhav Thackeray also hit out at Prime Minister Modi, saying, “When Shiv Sainiks saved Mumbai during the 1993 serial blasts, where were those who talked about Hindutva then? Now those who boast of a 56-inch chest, Where was that 56 inch chest then?” Thackeray further said, “Once upon a time people used to wear Modi’s mask in rallies, now PM Modi is behind the mask of my father Balasaheb Thackeray.”
